Step Inside a Day in the Life of a Vet Assistant No two days are the same! Working with us, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize your full skillset while gaining hands-on experience with a diverse range of patients, treatments, procedures, and diagnostics. As a Vet Assistant, you’ll work alongside our DVMs and veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care, including assisting with patient treatments such as medication administration, monitoring vital signs, IV catheter placement, and fluid administration. You’ll perform and assist with a variety of diagnostics, including radiographs, laboratory testing, CT, urinalysis, and cytology, as well as safely restrain animals for examinations and diagnostic procedures. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with a variety of surgical procedures, including abdominal exploratories, ovariohysterectomies, cystotomies, splenectomies, gastropexies, and enucleations. You’ll maintain accurate medical records, educate clients, dispense and administer medications, and help maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work environment.
