    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners
    • Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations
    • Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and safely restrain patients for exams and treatments
    • Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
    • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
    • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care
    • Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations
    • Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow
    • Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned


    About You

    • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred, with moderate hands-on experience strongly valued.
    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect warmly with clients and confidently de-escalate challenging situations.
    • Dependable, proactive, and able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
    • A collaborative team player who thrives in a busy, hands-on hospital setting.
    • Eager to learn, develop new skills, and take advantage of training and continuing education opportunities.
