    Associate Veterinarian - Growth Opportunity | Greater Omaha, NE

    • Interest In: Small-animal general practice, preventative and wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, diagnostic workups, senior medicine, pain management, behavioral medicine, urgent cases, and compassionate client communication. Val Verde also sees a variety of pocket pets, creating an additional opportunity for veterinarians who enjoy or would like to gain exposure to medicine beyond traditional dogs and cats.

    • New Graduates Welcome: Your first position after veterinary school should give you the opportunity to build confidence not expect you to know everything on day one. New graduates have access to our structured, one-year mentorship program, including a dedicated Clinical Mentor with intentional schedule overlap, regular mentor meetings, goal-setting workshops, virtual learning opportunities, and soft-skill coaching focused on communication and professional development.

    Before entering practice, you'll also have opportunities to strengthen your hands-on skills through our 5-day Surgical Mentorship Program, offered year-round in a small-group setting where participants typically complete approximately 20-40 surgeries with individualized instruction. New graduates also have access to a 2-day Dental Wet Lab at our Flower Mound Dental Training Facility, led by our own veterinary dental specialist and focused on building confidence in everyday dentistry.

The hospital's services include internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, ultrasound, radiology, an on-site laboratory, pain management, cancer treatment, behavioral medicine, laser therapy, preventative medicine, senior care, nutritional counseling, and urgent/emergency presentations. That variety creates an engaging caseload for an experienced doctor while giving a newer veterinarian exposure to many different areas of medicine as their confidence grows.
    • Client Education & Relationship-Focused Medicine: One of Val Verde's longstanding priorities is personalized care and client education. The team believes pet owners should understand what's happening medically and feel informed when making decisions for their pets.     • Patient Mix: Val Verde cares for dogs, cats, and a variety of small mammals and pocket pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, mice, and rats. Experience with pocket pets is not required, but the caseload provides a unique opportunity for a veterinarian who already enjoys these species or would like to expand their experience.
