Description
Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director to join our team in Thousand Oaks, CA.
About You
As a clinical leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and medical excellence. In collaborative partnership with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership team, you will guide the hospital's medical standards, support hospital performance, and foster a positive, collaborative culture. Central to this role is your active involvement in recruiting and retaining top veterinary talent, coaching and developing associate DVMs, and upholding high standards of patient care.
You'll mentor and develop associate veterinarians, support hospital operations through effective leadership and data-informed decision making, and play a key part in shaping clinical excellence and team engagement, all while modeling Thrive Pet Healthcare's Core Values.

.Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with a full-time annual salary range of $170,000–$200,000. In addition to base salary, this role includes an annual Medical Director stipend, quarterly production bonus opportunities with no negative accrual, and an elevated production percentage as the Medical Director. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Your Experience & Skills
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required; must hold a valid state veterinary board license in good standing for the state of hire, prior to date
Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
At least 4 years of veterinary practice experience
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication
Sound medical reasoning skills and strong medical ethics
