The Opportunity: Vice President, Vertical Operations
Location: Oahu, Hawaii
Reports to: CEO
Company Overview
A growing, multi-location organization is investing in leadership, operational excellence, and scalable processes to support continued expansion. The company offers an entrepreneurial, people-focused environment with an emphasis on accountability, collaboration, and long-term growth.
Position Overview
The Vice President will lead and develop a growing business division, overseeing financial performance, operational execution, team development, and expansion initiatives.
This leader will take a hands-on approach to building the business, establishing a strong management team, improving operating performance, and supporting the integration of new business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Own divisional P&L, financial performance, and profitability
- Lead day-to-day operations and drive business performance
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing management team
- Strengthen operational processes, reporting, and accountability
- Oversee sales performance and growth initiatives
- Support business expansion and integration efforts
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic priorities
- Build strong relationships across teams and operating locations
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is an experienced business leader with strong P&L ownership, a track record of building and developing teams, and demonstrated success improving operational and financial performance. Key requirements include:
- Has owned a P&L and delivered against a plan across multiple periods, not a share of someone else's number.
- Has personally built a team. Hired leaders, developed them, and removed the ones who did not work out.
- Has run a business with no layer beneath them and stayed close to the work without getting stuck in it.
- Raised a bar rather than maintained one. Something measurable is better where they left than where they found it.
- A real connection to Hawaii. From here, or a tie that makes moving home make sense.
- Runs a business off reporting and can talk unit economics without preparing for it.
- Credible on a jobsite with a crew and in a leadership meeting the same day, and visibly enjoys the first one.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Strongly Preferred
- Multi-unit or multi-site services leadership across more than one location or line at once.
- Has integrated an acquisition, or operated inside a business that was acquired.
- An in-home, one-call-close sales motion at a premium price, or route-based recurring revenue.
- A high-growth or investor-backed operating environment.
