POSITION SUMMARY
Position Available in La Lima Free Trade Zone, Cartago
The Verification and Validation Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Matthews marking systems and solutions. They are responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and compliance of Matthews products with industry standards and customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement verification and validation strategies for systems involving hardware, firmware, software, and fluids
- Review of product requirements with relevant stakeholders
- Participate in design reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality
- Design and implement test cases, test scripts, and test procedures to validate that the product meets the end user requirements
- Design and run smoke tests for testing systems at various milestones in their development or release process
- Perform system-level testing, including integration, smoke, regression, security, and acceptance testing
- Verify design outputs meet design inputs by reviewing design documentation and requirements, by performing code inspections and walkthroughs, by doing integration and white box testing, with the goals of ensuring the product is built according to specifications and bugs are detected early
- Analyze and communicate test results, manage bugs, and work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Create, maintain, and update test environments, simulators, and tools
- Communicate and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years' experience in verification/validation/testing/quality assurance of systems that include hardware and software
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong communication skills

- Environment: Office environment with occasional travel to testing facilities or customer sites
