    Primary Duties and

    Responsibilities:

    The Venue Operations Crew works within the Office of Strategic Venues and Event Services (OSVES) and is responsible for the physical preparation of venues before events and the breakdown and cleanup after events. This position requires the ability to follow instructions precisely, work efficiently as a team, and maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure venues are ready for clients and guests.

    • Setup and tear-down tents, tables, chairs, staging, protective flooring, lobby furniture and other equipment for events.
    • Load/unload trucks, van, carts and the like as needed. Transport materials to and from various campus event spaces.
    • Maintain clean event spaces, service corridors and storage areas.
    • Maintain an organized and clean inventory of supplies and equipment.
    • Follow safety guidelines and procedures for handling equipment.
    • Ensure all setups comply with safety regulations and floor plans.
    • Coordinate with event managers, venue staff and other crew members to ensure smooth execution of events and daily operations of the Office of Strategic Venues and Event Services.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Ability to lift and move equipment.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
    • Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
    • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
    • Candidates with forklift certification preferred.
    • An ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message.
    • An ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

    Required EducationHigh School diploma or GED required, vocational or technical training or degree preferred.

    Required ExperienceEntry level job, no prior work experience required.

    The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
