Position: Vendor Quality Management Manager
Location: Hybrid – Boston, MA (3 days/week onsite)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Pay Rate: $58–75/hour
Position Summary
The Vendor Quality Management Manager proactively assesses vendor risk across GMP/GDP areas and translates assessments into actionable insights, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure appropriate oversight of third-party vendors. This role contributes to the advancement of processes, tools, and systems that are fit for purpose across GMP/GDP functions and vendor types.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor vendor quality metrics and dashboards to identify emerging trends and potential risks within assigned GMP/GDP areas.
- Ensure effective management and mitigation of risks associated with third-party vendors and suppliers.
- Support the development and execution of processes and procedures for reporting, managing, and mitigating vendor risk.
- Lead and/or participate in process improvements and quality system enhancements as a Vendor Quality subject matter expert.
- Provide onsite inspection support, including front room and back room activities, during regulatory inspections.
- Present vendor quality risk assessments and recommendations to cross-functional quality and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement of vendor oversight processes.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of GMP/GDP regulations and quality requirements.
- Experience developing, monitoring, and analyzing vendor quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Expertise in third-party/supplier risk assessment and risk management methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret quality data and trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Experience working effectively in a matrixed, collaborative environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, life sciences, or allied health field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, Vendor Quality, or related GMP/GDP environments.
- Prior people management or manager-level leadership experience is required.
