Job Title: Logistics –Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I
Location: Mount Airy, NC 27030
Duration: 3 Months (Temp-to-Hire opportunity)
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Shift Timings: Flexible schedule (either 7: 00 AM –4: 00 PM or 8: 00 AM –5: 00 PM)


Job Description:
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I is responsible for managing on-site inventory at customer locations. This role involves delivering, stocking, and organizing materials in vending machines and point-of-use (POU) areas, as well as scanning and tracking inventory using barcode systems. The role ensures accurate inventory control, timely replenishment, and smooth coordination between warehouse and customer site operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Stock vending machines and POU (Point of Use) inventory areas
  • Deliver VMI materials from warehouse to customer site
  • Scan barcodes to track inventory and trigger replenishment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and min/max levels
  • Assist in cycle counts and annual inventory audits
  • Organize and maintain VMI storage areas (5S standards)
  • Ensure correct shipment and order accuracy
  • Report inventory issues, shortages, and reorder needs
  • Support customer requests and coordinate with internal teams
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment usage
 
Skills Required:
  • Basic warehouse, inventory, or delivery experience (1+ year preferred)
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning systems
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly (up to 75 lbs occasionally)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in physically active environments
 
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (not mandatory)
