Job Summary Ensures safety, specifica ons, and quality for fleet vehicles and equipment. Oversees engineering applica ons related to vehicle specifica ons (e.g., manufacturer, regulatory, corporate) and risk analysis. Works with vendor partners and internal customers to assess technical specifica ons rela ve to new vehicles and any required modifica ons to exis ng fleet assets. Provides oversight of vehicle and equipment safety-related issues, including the determina on of field defects, iden fica on of resolu on, and required repor ng to leadership. Span of control: 0; individual contributor. Key Accountabilities Oversees quality control processes to ensure new fleet assets are delivered to specifica ons and quality requirements Determines vehicle design and specifica ons based on business need (e.g., weight capacity, upfit/placement, technology, etc.) Coordinates retrofit/modifica on requests to maintain high level of standards and compliance with performance, produc vity, environmental, and safety requirements Assesses and coordinates field defects to provide issue resolu on for vehicles Addresses vehicle safety concerns and provides guidance for fleet technical ques ons/issues; provides resolu on steps to correct all vehicle and equipment related safety issues including inves ga ons and repor ng Oversees vehicles, equipment and new technology pilot programs including tes ng, analysis and feasibility of full-scale implementa on Supports vendor rela onship and provides oversight for field training on new vehicles/assets for operators and mechanics Ensures assets meet government regula ons and safety requirements (e.g., Department of Transporta on, etc.) Minimum Education & Experience Requirements This is a mul-track base requirement job; educa on and experience requirements can be sa sfied through one of the following three op ons: High School diploma with 9 years of experience working with fleet specifica ons and administra on in an industrial or commercial se ng; OR Associates degree in an engineering or related field and 7 years of experience working with fleet specifica ons and administra on in an industrial or commercial se ng; OR Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience working with fleet specifica ons and administra on in an industrial or commercial se ng Other Qualifications Preferred: Experience with u lity fleet specifica ons and medium-duty vehicles Other Requirements: Strong organiza onal skills Ability to coordinate deadlines and logis cs to successfully lead work processes within an agreed upon me frame Ability to balance mul ple demands from leaders, subordinates, and peers in a posi ve and even handed manner and display calm demeanor under pressure Competencies Additional Information Incumbents may engage in all or some combina on of the ac vi es and accountabili es and u lize a variety of the competencies cited in this descrip on depending upon the organiza on and role to which they are assigned.
