We are seeking a Vehicle Senior Ethernet Network Architect to develop and manage advanced Ethernet network architectures for new and existing military land vehicle platforms. You will collaborate with software, cybersecurity, data, hardware, and systems engineering teams to design secure, reliable, and high-performance vehicle networks that meet customer and internal requirements.
You will also document and manage network architectures within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment, using industry-standard tools such as Cameo. This role requires strong systems-level thinking, the ability to balance competing technical requirements, and experience coordinating with engineering teams and external vendors to ensure designs comply with established architectures.
Develop Ethernet network architecture diagrams for vehicle platforms using industry evaluations, technical assessments, and trade studies.
Evaluate and refine network architectures as system requirements and design information mature.
Create, capture, and review connectivity diagrams, including SysML Internal Block Diagrams (IBDs), Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs), and component-level electrical schematics.
Identify, track, and manage interface attributes throughout the system model.
Collaborate with design engineers to review lower-level designs, verify compliance with the intended architecture, and maintain traceability to higher-level system components.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Ethernet architecture designs across multiple concurrent programs.
Coordinate with hardware, software, cybersecurity, and external engineering teams to establish interface requirements and ensure consistent implementation of network architectures.
Document and maintain network architecture models within the MBSE environment.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant experience.
Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience; candidates with an advanced degree may be considered with fewer years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex Ethernet networking concepts into clear interface requirements for cross-functional engineering teams.
Experience developing mixed-use Ethernet architectures that support both best-effort and deterministic communications.
Experience designing and implementing Ethernet networks for vehicle products through the delivery phase.
Knowledge of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) specifications, VLANs, Quality of Service (QoS), Ethernet security standards, including IEEE 802.1X and IEEE 802.1AE, multicast data streams, managed switch and router configuration, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures.
Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN) architectures is a plus.
Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools, specifically Cameo.
Ability to work onsite up to 100% of the time, with some potential for remote work each week.
Competitive hourly compensation of $75–$82.
Opportunity to contribute to advanced military vehicle networking and next-generation defense technology.
Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex, mission-critical systems.
Apply your expertise in Ethernet architecture, network security, and model-based systems engineering to challenging technical programs.
