    Automotive Paint Prep Technician

    Position Summary

    The Automotive Paint Prep Technician is a key member of the paint department responsible for preparing vehicles and parts for the paint process. This role involves sanding, inspecting, and assisting painters and masking technicians to ensure vehicles meet quality standards before paint application. Candidates should have a basic understanding of automotive paint processes and products.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Inspect vehicle panels and parts for paint defects, imperfections, or damage.
    • Prepare vehicles and components for the masking and paint process.
    • Sand vehicles and parts using proper tools and techniques to ensure surfaces are paint-ready.
    • Assist masking technicians and painters with preparation-related tasks.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
    • Follow company quality standards and safety procedures.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Valid driver's license required.
    • Previous experience in an automotive paint shop, collision repair facility, or body shop preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of automotive paint products, materials, and preparation techniques is a plus.
