    Overview:

    The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time, year-round position at The Highlands at Harbor Springs. This role operates in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the resort’s fleet and equipment.

    The fleet includes:

    • Heavy equipment
    • Snow grooming equipment
    • Trucks and passenger vehicles
    • Snowmobiles
    • Small engines
    • Miscellaneous fabricated equipment

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on fleet equipment
    • Work independently and collaboratively to complete assigned tasks
    • Utilize service manuals, parts catalogs, and technical references associated with repair operations
    • Maintain accurate service and repair records for all vehicles and equipment
    • Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
    • Communicate effectively with departments regarding repair scheduling and maintenance needs
    • Provide personal mechanic tools required for daily work
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 1 year of automotive mechanic experience and/or professional training required
    • Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, and electrical systems
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • State and/or industry certifications are highly preferred, but not required
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Fabrication skills are a plus
