Job Summary:
The Vegetation/Stormwater Maintenance Worker performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled activities in the preservation of City-owned rights-of-way. A majority of the work performed (75%) is in vegetation control which includes mowing, weeding, edging, litter pick-up, and tree maintenance. The position also includes stormwater construction and maintenance of drainage infrastructure and right-of-way maintenance in the off season. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Stormwater/Vegetation Supervisor and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
Salary:
$17.38 - $21.72 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Work will be performed mostly outdoors in all types of weather conditions including extreme temperatures, hot and cold, wet and/or humid conditions, in mud and/or standing water, possibly exposed to vehicle traffic, loud noise, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may occasionally work in high, precarious places, confined spaces or open trenches, and may require use of personal protective equipment. The work environment may also include exposure to drafts, noise, dust, grease, and traffic, and may require use of personal protective equipment.
Tasks require ability to lift/push/pull/ and/or move up to 80 pounds, and typically involve some combination of walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, walking, balancing, climbing, bending, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, and mental and visual acuity.
