Senior Microsoft SQL Developer

Complete Description:

The Microservices Technical Lead (SQL/.NET) supports thetolling modernization program by providing functional leadership, hands-on SQLand .NET engineering, and collaborative solution design. This individualpartners closely with the PM/Scrum Master, veteran SME, and technical team todecompose the monolithic database into microservice-aligned schemas. The roleincludes SQL engineering, architecture participation, code reviews,documentation reviews, and strong cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

·Lead collaborative technical design discussionsfor microservices, database restructuring, and API integration.

·Provide hands-on SQL engineering includingschema modernization, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performancetuning.

·Support .NET API development as needed,including backend services and data access patterns.

·Guide senior engineering talent with strong,engaging technical leadership.

·Collaborate with the PM/Scrum Master to supportproject execution and decision-making.

·Work closely with the veteran SME for technicalalignment and domain expertise.

·Build migration logic and data pipelines usingAzure Data Factory (ADF).

·Ensure SQL modernization aligns withmicroservice boundaries and audit timelines.

·Participate in code reviews and documentationreviews.

·Collaborate with .NET, SQL, BA, QA, DevOps,Cloud, and CAB teams for cohesive delivery.

·Support compliance requirements including PCI,retention rules, and secure data handling.

·Operate effectively within delivery workflowsand agile components as needed.

Required Skills

·10+ years of overall IT experience.

·7+ years of SQL Server development experience.

·5+ years of .NET/C# backend developmentexperience.

·3–5 years of technical lead experience guidingengineering teams.

·3+ years of modernization or migration projectexperience.

·3+ years of experience with Azure SQL on IaaS VMenvironments.

·3+ years of experience building ADF pipelinesand supporting ETL workloads.

·3+ years of experience supporting delivery andagile teams.

Preferred Skills

·2+ years of experience in state government ortransportation-related environments.

·2+ years working in regulated or auditedenvironments.

·2+ years of exposure to microservicesarchitecture concepts.

Work Environment & Arrangement
This role follows a hybrid work schedule requiring the developer to be onsite 1day per week. Only local candidates will be considered for this position.

Duration, Level, and Rate
• Contract Length: 12 months, with possible extension.
• CAI Skill Level: Level 4 (Senior Developer).
• Maximum Bill Rate: $114.00/hour.

SQL Server development experience Required 7 Years
