VDC Coordinator

This position is ideal for someone who began their career as a commercial electrician and transitioned into virtual design and construction (VDC), or an individual with direct experience performing electrical modeling for a commercial electrical contractor . Create highly detailed shop drawings, installation drawings, and prefabrication drawings for field and fabrication teams.

VDC Coordinator (Electrical Modeling)
Location: Smyrna, GA
Type: 6 month Temp to Hire

We are currently seeking a VDC Coordinator to join a growing team specializing in commercial electrical construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who began their career as a commercial electrician and transitioned into virtual design and construction (VDC), or an individual with direct experience performing electrical modeling for a commercial electrical contractor.
Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with VDC Managers and Project Leads to model electrical systems in Revit.
• Develop and maintain detailed electrical models based on contract drawings, project specifications, and NEC requirements.
• Coordinate electrical systems with other trades using Navisworks and Autodesk Forma.
• Create highly detailed shop drawings, installation drawings, and prefabrication drawings for field and fabrication teams.
• Maintain accurate as-built models throughout the duration of each project.
• Support modular construction and prefabrication efforts through detailed modeling and coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Revit modeling experience.
• Experience with modular construction and prefabrication processes.
• Proficiency modeling electrical systems, including conduit, equipment, supports, and related components in Revit.
• Understanding of commercial electrical construction practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and multiple trade partners.

Preferred Background

• Previous experience as a commercial electrician.
• Experience working for an electrical contractor performing VDC or BIM coordination.
