OVERVIEW: The VAS (Value-Added Services) Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading operational excellence initiatives across value-added service operations, including kitting, assembly, labeling, packaging, customization, rework, and fulfillment processes. This role drives productivity improvements, cost reduction efforts, quality enhancements, and process standardization through Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on operational experience and a passion for developing teams and implementing sustainable process improvements in a fast-paced distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

Lead and execute Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence initiatives across VAS operations.

Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis, observation, and stakeholder feedback.

Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action activities to address operational inefficiencies.

Develop and maintain standard work procedures, process documentation, and best practices.

Drive waste elimination, cycle time reduction, and productivity improvements.

Lead Value Stream Mapping exercises to identify bottlenecks and optimize workflows.

Project Management

Manage multiple continuous improvement projects simultaneously from concept through implementation.

Develop project plans, timelines, and success metrics.

Track project savings, productivity gains, quality improvements, and return on investment.

Present project results and recommendations to leadership teams.

Data Analysis & Performance Management

Monitor operational KPIs including productivity, quality, throughput, labor utilization, inventory accuracy, and customer service metrics.

Create dashboards and reporting tools to measure operational performance.

Utilize data analytics to identify trends and recommend process enhancements.

Establish performance benchmarks and continuous improvement targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance teams to drive improvements.

Support new customer implementations and VAS program launches.

Collaborate with site leadership to prioritize improvement initiatives.

Serve as a change agent promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Training & Development

Train employees and leadership teams on Lean principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.

Coach supervisors and operational teams on process improvement best practices.

Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Industrial Engineering, or Process Improvement.

Experience within warehousing, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, or value-added services operations.

Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
