Varsity Softball Coach (Mater Dei - Evansville, IN)

Responsibilities:

• Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with school administration, assistant coaches, players, and parents
• Learning and following IHSAA by-laws
• Interviews and recommends assistant coaches for the program to the athletic director
• Oversees and mentors the coaching staff in an effort to insure appropriate player and team development
• Maintaining the playing field and practice facilities
• Organizing practices, transportation, and game schedules
• Purchasing equipment and uniforms
• Fundraising
• Oversees the reporting of all scores and submission of statistics in a timely manner and in accordance with the schools protocol in this area
• Ensures that the mission statement and the Catholic character of the school is integrated into their respective program.

Qualifications:

• At least 21 years old
• The head coach must have the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience at the high school level.
• Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
• Desire and ability to work and relate to people in a Catholic high school setting
• Safe Environment training and Background Check required
