POSITION: Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach LOCATION: Trenton High School EFFECTIVE: Winter 2026-2027 School Year COMPENSATION: Per Schedule B of the TEA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS: The person selected for this position will offer the best combination of training, experience, and attributes in accordance with the following:

• Knowledge and understanding pertaining to Basketball, strategies, rules etc.
• Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association rules and regulations
• Ability to communicate and work well with High School students
• Ability to communicate and work well with parents, staff, and the community
• High School and College playing and coaching experience preferred
• High school graduate or equivalent

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise all practice sessions
• Complies with M.H.S.A.A. policies and department/District policies CPR/First Aid Certified
• Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director
• Develop positive self-image with athletics
• Attends clinics/workshops related to sport, CAP 1 or CAP 2 required
• Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills/techniques
• Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials
• Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

REASONING ABILITY: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
