    Description

    We are seeking a High School Varsity Assistant Girls Basketball Coach who has the ability to build meaningful relationships with players, families, and the community while fostering an environment that promotes both athletic and personal growth. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop and implement all aspects of the varsity program while supporting the overall vision and philosophy of Bangor Girls Basketball.

    The High School Varsity Assistant Girls Basketball Coach will provide leadership and support in helping oversee the Girls Basketball Program while demonstrating a visible commitment to our student-athletes through strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

    Candidates will be expected to coach, teach, and motivate student-athletes to develop not only their basketball skills, but also their academic responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and character. Instruction in fundamentals, skill development, basketball IQ, and team concepts will be valued alongside a strong emphasis on character development within athletics.

    Coaches should intentionally promote qualities such as accountability, resilience, sportsmanship, discipline, and integrity, helping student-athletes grow into high-character young adults who reflect the competencies identified in our Portrait of a Graduate. The successful candidate will be committed to creating a positive, competitive, and inclusive environment that encourages every student-athlete to reach their full potential.

    An emphasis will be placed on creating a positive experience for all student-athletes while serving as a positive ambassador for the entire girls basketball program, school, and community. The assistant coach will be expected to support offseason player development, assist with program-wide initiatives, and contribute to building a unified culture throughout all levels of Bangor Girls Basketball.

    The Bangor School District is a small rural school district conveniently located along Interstate 90 between La Crosse and Sparta. Our campus includes an Elementary School, Middle/High School, and the former high school gym facility. Athletics and the arts are integral parts of our educational experience, providing opportunities for all students to participate, grow, and develop as individuals and teammates.
