GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary focus is the Air Separation Industry in North & South America. Secondary function includes similar support for general Koso Group business.

Ensures prompt response is given to customers for technical troubleshooting by phone, virtual and on-site service visits, as needed.

Demonstrates good working knowledge of valve assembly, inspection, problem solving, repair and calibration, to restore proper function of Koso-supplied equipment.

Develops the knowledge and skills to become responsible for administering customer inquiries, quotations, order processing, as volume of business increases, for the supply of Valves, Parts and Service for Koso Group business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service support functions:

  • Develops in-depth product knowledge of Koso products supplied to Air Separation customers. Includes on-going hands-on workshop training, for assembly, inspection, repair, calibration and testing.
  • Promptly answers technical inquiries from customers, about their Koso products. Readily available for customer phone and virtual discussions & troubleshooting.
  • As needed, makes timely travel plans to visit customer jobsites, to directly troubleshoot problems in the field. Travel can be 25% to 50% of the time.
  • Capable to identify cause of a problem, and when appropriate, covert a customer complaint or warranty claim, into a billable sales opportunity for Koso.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of Koso Group product literature, with emphasis on installation, operation & maintenance manuals.

Future business support functions:

  • Develops knowledge and skills to act as the primary liaison between Americas Air Separation customers and Koso factories in China and USA, as volume of business increases. These business support activities include:
  • Promptly answers commercial inquiries from customers for supply of valves, parts and service. Reviews customer RFQ’s, prepares quotations, receives & reviews customer purchase orders. Confirms at all commercial issues are resolved (e.g.: Letters of Credit; penalties, etc.)
  • Processes sales orders using the company’s ERP order entry system, monitors all sales orders to ensure schedules are on-track and orders will ship on-time.
  • If quotations, orders or service schedules are not on-track, this person communicates directly with Sales, Production Control, Procurement, etc., to take corrective action that will recover the schedule. If additional support is needed, this person informs Koso management of the situation, for their assistance.
  • Organizes the plans for spare parts inventory at Koso America factory, or other locations, that will be needed for quick delivery to customers in North & South America.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the Koso America General Manager for day-to-day supervision.
  • Reports indirectly to the Koso China Assistant General Manager for overall direction of focus, goals and priorities.
  • Works closely with Inside Sales, Production Control, Procurement, Engineering and Finance, at both Koso America and Koso China divisions.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum four years field service or workshop experience with assembly & testing of valve products.
  • Preferred experience of up to two years in administration of valve products using a computerized ERP system.
  • Preferred Associate of Arts Degree from community college or vocational school.
  • Requires minimal management supervision.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
