The Value Stream Manager is the operational leader responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity performance across a manufacturing value stream. This role leads supervisors and production teams while championing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure customer expectations and business objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction for all activities within the assigned value stream, ensuring achievement of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
  • Develop and execute production strategies that align staffing, equipment, and resources with customer demand.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Identify bottlenecks, resolve manufacturing challenges, and implement solutions that improve throughput and workflow performance.


People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors and frontline manufacturing teams.
  • Foster a culture focused on accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, talent development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.


Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence initiatives across the value stream.
  • Utilize operational metrics and data analysis to drive improvements and eliminate waste.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other functional teams to improve performance and customer satisfaction.


Business Performance

  • Own and drive results across key performance indicators including:
    • Safety
    • Quality
    • On-Time Delivery
    • Productivity
    • Cost Management
    • Inventory Performance
    • Employee Engagement

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Prior experience leading supervisors and managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive operational performance, improve efficiencies, and achieve business objectives.
