Lead all manufacturing activities within the assigned value stream to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives. Ensure production resources, staffing levels, and capacity plans are aligned with customer demand and business priorities. Oversee daily execution of production schedules and operational plans. Identify and remove production bottlenecks while implementing sustainable process improvements. Drive operational excellence initiatives that improve efficiency, throughput, and overall performance.
Lead, mentor, and develop Supervisors and frontline manufacturing teams. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. Build leadership capability through coaching, development planning, and succession planning initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace environment focused on employee growth and performance.
Champion Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies throughout the value stream. Utilise operational metrics and production data to identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve performance. Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other departments to deliver operational improvements. Lead improvement projects focused on productivity, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and workflow optimisation.
Maintain accountability for key operational metrics including: Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity, Cost Performance, Inventory Management, Employee Engagement. Drive achievement of business objectives through effective leadership, planning, and execution. Monitor performance trends and implement action plans to achieve operational targets.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience. Previous experience leading supervisors and large manufacturing teams. Background within aerospace, defence, automotive, precision manufacturing, or another highly regulated production environment preferred. Demonstrated success improving operational performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence methodologies. Proven ability to manage production schedules, capacity planning, staffing, and resource allocation. Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and team development skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Experience managing KPIs and driving accountability across a manufacturing operation.
