THE ROLE:

Hands-on technician/engineer responsible for supporting Server CPU Post-Silicon validation in the area of high speed IO. Domains include PCIe, CXL, USB, hotplug, multi-socket, system manageability, reset and volume validation. This individual will be primarily working with validation engineers in test execution, troubleshooting failures, platform setup and construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Platform setup and reconfiguration. i.e. attach PCIe/CXL cards/devices to server CPU validation platform, install various backplanes, risers, interposers, install CPU into sockets and install various cooling apparatus.
  • Setup PCIe and CXL protocol analyzers for Gen1-Gen6 speed.
  • Maintain lab computers, including various lab hosts.
  • Perform regular BIOS updates, PCIe/CXL device FW updates, BMC and FPGA image updates, Protocol Analyzer SW updates
  • Execute weekly regression testing. Collect/report result/progress

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with server CPU platforms i.e. validation open/close chassis platforms
  • Familiarity with using server OS such Windows Server, Ubuntu, RedHat
  • Comfortable with navigating and configuring system via BIOS.
  • Good at troubleshooting skills
  • Able to do some basic programming/scripting work (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...)
  • Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience with Aarvark, Dediprog or other programmers preferred
  • Prior experience with PCIe protocol analyzer highly desired
  • Prior experience with PCIe cards, NVMe drives or CXL cards highly desired
  • Prior server CPU/GPU experience is preferred
  • Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired
