    Summary - Job Responsibilities - Activities:

    The successful candidate will work as part of the SPS production group vacuum processing, leak checking and measuring various components and systems. The types of equipment are as follows: gas / vacuum control and handling equipment, cryogenic equipment, and various equipment used in the production of SPS products. Knowledge of vacuum systems and related vacuum components is required.

    Functions:

    • Knowledge of machine assembly, vacuum, component level troubleshooting and wiring required.
    • Day-to-day activities of this position include set up and breakdown of systems/product, preventive maintenance, unplanned maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment/product issues.
    • Must be able to follow written policies, procedures, and/or work instructions to complete critical vacuum processing, leak check, and critical measurement activities.
    • Long-term projects include equipment upgrades and implementation.

    Education - Experience:

    • AS degree in relatable field and/or 5 - 10 years of demonstrated relevant manufacturing experience.
    • Knowledge of vacuum roughing pumps, blowers, turbo pumps, cryogenic vacuum pumps and vacuum sensors used in manufacturing and production equipment is preferred.
    • Must have experience in troubleshooting and maintaining vacuum equipment in a manufacturing facility
    • High school education required.

    Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
    • Strong understanding of quality improvement techniques applied in a production / manufacturing environment.
    • Self-starter and independent working attributes are essential.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and MS Project.
    • Must be a team player!
    • US Citizenship required.
