Location: Athens, GA 30601
Pay Rate: $18.00 $20.00/hr
Duration: 6-month contract
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, with some weekend and holiday work required

Overview

The Vaccine Manufacturing Technician supports the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic cleanroom environment using virus and cell culture techniques. This position follows established USDA regulations, GMP requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure vaccine manufacturing processes are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic cleanroom environment.
• Utilize virus and cell culture techniques while following established manufacturing procedures.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP requirements, and USDA regulations throughout production processes.
• Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Maintain technical data, manufacturing records, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with training and coaching new and current employees on required processes and job skills.
• Participate in root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to production issues.
• Identify and escalate production flow disturbances, process concerns, and equipment issues.
• Support deviation investigations, change controls, site projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to support manufacturing quality and efficiency.

Required Skills

• Manufacturing & Laboratory: GMP, cleanroom procedures, aseptic techniques, virus and cell culture
• Quality & Compliance: SOP compliance, production documentation, USDA regulations, CAPA, deviation support
• Technical: Basic math, equipment troubleshooting, automation troubleshooting, database systems
• Computer: Microsoft Office
• Professional: Organization, time management, attention to detail, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, teamwork

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Biology degree or related field preferred.
• One or more years of laboratory and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
