Vac Truck Operator 

Location: Colorado – statewide travel (Grand Junction to the Front Range) 

Pay: $28–$36/hour Depending on experience

Type: Full-time, Travel Required 

Native Sun is hiring a Vac Truck Operator / CDL Driver to run vacuum excavation and utility work across Colorado, traveling from Grand Junction to the Front Range. This role requires 100% willingness to travel statewide with overnight stays, along with the ability to independently maintain and service the vac truck. 

Responsibilities 

• Safely operate a vac truck to perform vacuum excavation, utility, and industrial cleaning work on job sites 
• Drive to and between project locations across Colorado, from Grand Junction to the Front Range, including overnight travel as needed 
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on the truck and equipment without relying on a separate mechanic 
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate service/maintenance records 
• Coordinate with project managers and crews to meet daily job site schedules and requirements 
• Follow all DOT, safety, and site-specific protocols while working independently in the field 

Requirements 

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record 
• Experience operating a vac truck / hydrovac unit for excavation, utility, or industrial work 
• Fully willing to travel throughout Colorado, from Grand Junction to the Front Range, with regular overnight stays 
• Able to perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on the truck independently 
• Safety-minded, reliable, and comfortable working solo on the road
