    Primary Care Provider – VA Outpatient Clinic (Contract)

    Location: Hyannis, MA Schedule: Full‑Time, Onsite Shift: Standard daytime tours of duty Contract Type: Full‑time contract

    Overview

    This contract position offers an opportunity to provide high‑quality primary care services to veterans at a VA outpatient clinic. The provider will deliver comprehensive care, including evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with clinical and administrative standards. Onsite presence and collaboration with the healthcare team are required to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

    Required Qualifications

    • Primary Care experience (1+ years)
    • 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:

      • Clinical Documentation
      • EHR Training
      • Medical Coding
    • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
    • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
    • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

      • Board Eligible
      • Board Certified

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:

      • Geriatric Care
      • Internal Medicine
      • Family Practice
    • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

      • Medical Doctor (MD) – Massachusetts (MA)
      • Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C) – Massachusetts (MA)
      • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) – Massachusetts (MA)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide primary care services to Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries at the Hyannis VA Outpatient Clinic
    • Evaluate, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical and psychiatric conditions
    • Perform initial evaluation and ongoing management of minor wounds and common illnesses
    • Follow established medication policies (no sample medications provided)
    • Communicate test results in accordance with VHA Directive 1088
    • Participate in quality improvement meetings and staff meetings as required
    • Complete quality management and performance improvement documentation
    • Document patient care and select appropriate E&M procedure codes in the EHR
    • Adhere to patient safety and infection control standards; report incidents within 24 hours
    • Refer patient or customer service issues to the Primary Supervisory Physician or Deputy Chief of Primary Care

    Schedule & Shift Details

    • Onsite presence required for scheduled tours of duty
    • Punctuality and attendance documented through sign‑in/out and time sheets
    • Full‑time contract schedule
