Position Overview
Client Care Continuum (CCC) is seeking an experienced VA Community Care Revenue Cycle Specialist to support reimbursement, recovery, and claims management activities associated with veteran behavioral health treatment services.
This position extends far beyond traditional medical billing. The successful candidate will work directly with VA Community Care, Optum VACCN, TriWest, TRICARE, and associated reimbursement pathways to identify, resolve, and recover unpaid treatment episodes while supporting ongoing claims processing activities.
The position requires an individual capable of independently researching claim issues, identifying reimbursement barriers, coordinating with payer representatives, and actively pursuing resolution of denied, delayed, or unpaid claims.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage VA Community Care billing and reimbursement activities.
  • Process and monitor claims through Waystar and other billing platforms.
  • Work directly with Optum VACCN, TriWest CCN, TRICARE, and VA Community Care representatives.

  • Pursue aged accounts receivable and revenue recovery initiatives.
  • Review referral, authorization, and eligibility documentation.
  • Track reimbursement trends and identify systemic payment issues.
  • Prepare appeals, reconsiderations, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to obtain required records.
  • Maintain accurate billing, collections, and recovery reports.
  • Assist leadership in identifying opportunities to improve reimbursement performance.
Preferred Experience
  • VA Community Care Network (VACCN)
  • Optum VACCN
  • TriWest Community Care Network
  • TRICARE
  • Behavioral Health Billing
  • Residential Treatment Billing
  • Mission Act
  • COMPACT Act
  • Revenue Cycle Management
  • Denial Management
  • Appeals and Reconsiderations
  • Aged Accounts Receivable Recovery
  • Medical Coding and Documentation Review
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPC, CPB, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum three years medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
  • Experience working with veteran healthcare reimbursement strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health billing and documentation requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What Makes This Position Different
CCC views this role as a veteran healthcare reimbursement and recovery function rather than simply a claims processing position.
The successful candidate will play a direct role in protecting reimbursement for services delivered to veterans experiencing mental health crisis, Military Sexual Trauma, dual-diagnosis conditions, and other behavioral health needs.
This position offers the opportunity to work within one of Alabama's longest-serving veteran behavioral health treatment organizations while directly contributing to the recovery of revenue associated with veteran care.

This is a remote position.
