Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a V&V Tools Technician for their Dearborn, MI location.
Responsibilities:
Tools Technician in support of the V&V Operational Support and Hardware Team, a part of client EVDD – Electric Vehicle & Digital Design organization.
The position will support the preparation, assembly, configuration, inventory, and distribution of developed test tools.
Inventoried test tools and systems are distributed globally to electrical engineering, verification, and testing teams across client, as well as external client development partners.
The selected candidate will work closely with existing team members to ensure deliverables to the downstream organizations meet expected requirements and deliverables.
Current products support development and testing of next generation Center-stack, Cluster, Connected and Non-Connected
Features, and Display Virtualization toolsets across numerous vehicle sub-system domains.
Assemble and prepare test environments for deployment.
Aluminum frame assembly
Harness installation
Module Installation
Software installation
Testing & validation
Package and ship systems to client and Non client partners.
Track distribution using approved process/tools
Maintain operation of tool systems
Troubleshoot and repair tool Systems.
Monitor and maintain virtual service desk
Diagnose, update, and repair non-functional systems.
Manage shipping of components to our fabricators for upcoming system builds.
Maintain inventory and organization of tools lab
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred, though applicable knowledge or experience would be acceptable in place of formal education
Ability to manage priorities, risks, and issues as they arise.
Ability to work both independently and as a part of a group.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Functional understanding of automotive electrical wiring and wiring schematics
2+ years of experience in electrical harness design or fabrication
Prior automotive or IT support.
Experience utilizing JIRA.
Position will include gaining product development V&V systems business acumen.
Support distribution of client future product offerings in leading edge technology to deliver connected features in the vehicle.
Partnership with the business in a high-growth area, In-Vehicle Infotainment feature development.
