Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing UX programs.
  • 3 years of experience managing and developing a team.
  • Experience with UX disciplines and user-centered development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience analyzing data and leveraging insights to develop solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in program management within a design or UX organization.
  • Understanding of UX design principles, design systems, user centered development, and product development lifecycle in software and hardware.
  • Ability to flex across both EMEA and Pacific time zones, specifically to work early morning hours to overlap with EMEA business hours.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus among executive cross-functional leaders.

UX Programs & Operations drives projects by increasing communication, streamlining the UX design process, and fostering a culture of user-centered development. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to create industry-leading products based on user insights.As a UX Program Manager, you will combine expert project management with a passion for user experience to improve the design of products used by billions. Your role is to plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure deadlines are met. You will harmonize the work of various UX disciplines and cross-functional partners to drive team objectives and create innovative experiences.

In this leadership position, you will lead operational and strategic initiatives to deliver high-quality, user-centered experiences. Partnering with UX leadership, you will establish clear roadmaps and team cadences by defining scope and managing complex workflows. As a bridge between UX, Product, and Engineering, you will scale impact through cross-functional alignment and the orchestration of multiple UX disciplines to solve complex user problems from concept to launch. You will serve as the central communicator, overseeing project updates for executive leadership and stakeholders.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UX leadership across disciplines to ensure strategic alignment, optimal resource allocation, and successful delivery of health and fitness experiences across the Health product portfolio.
  • Influence shared organizational programs and goals by advocating for user-centered development through tools, systems, and collaboration.
  • Direct core UX operational rhythms and processes, (e.g., design reviews, to ensure delivery of high-quality user experiences).
  • Be accountable for optimization and management of the Health UX budget and vendor operations. Lead annual opex planning for Health UX.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX Program Managers, fostering a culture of operational excellence and driving the strategic direction for the Health UX Program Manager function. Cultivate a High-Performing, Collaborative, and AI-Fluent UX Program Management team.
