    Duties and Responsibilities to be performed by the consultant

    UX Engineer I (UI/UX Designer Specialist I) Job description: Consulting with stakeholders to understand business goals

    Helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution, as part of a team of problem solvers

    Designing, developing and implementing both client and internal facing applications and providing technology tools that help drive NYS strategic initiatives

    Using enterprise architecture across application areas to build delivery models that map capabilities to business needs outlined by NYS

    Using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations

    Addressing defects and enhancements as part of the application support lifecycle

    Participating in incident resolution post implementation as required

Telecommuting arrangements require direct manager approval and are subject to change based on program needs. Consultants approved for 100% remote work must attend monthly in-person meetings at the Albany office and be available for major milestone meetings as needed.

    Mandatory Qualifications

    Level I- Between three (3) and seven (7) years of experience as a UX Engineer

    Five to seven years of experience in UI/UX engineering on full life cycle of design deliverables including wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, story boards and user surveys.

    One to two years working in an Integrated Eligibility System Program in various workstreams in a Health and Human Service setting.

    Desirable Qualifications

    One to two years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.

    One to two years of experience with user research, user modeling and usability testing.

    One to two years of experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
