    Description

AWS AI Services is hiring a UX Designer II to work on Amazon Bedrock, the fastest-growing service in AWS history. Amazon Bedrock is a generative AI platform that gives customers a unified API to access and test GenAI models from leading AI companies (i.e. Amazon, Anthropic, OpenAI, and more) to run high-performance inference at scale. This is a rocketship service, having processed more tokens in Q1 2026 than in all prior years combined, with customer spend growing 170% quarter over quarter. It is a cornerstone of AWS"s AI strategy and a primary revenue driver for the company.

In this role, you will design the console experiences that developers use to evaluate and compare model capabilities, test model outputs, optimize their prompts, and understand their inference usage and capacity through visual dashboards. You will take complex, highly technical AI/ML concepts and turn them into clear, usable interfaces that help customers make informed decisions about which models to use and how to get the most out of them. This is a hands-on design role where your work directly shapes how millions of developers adopt and scale generative AI.

A demonstrated track record of shipping feature, strong technical fluency (comfortable working in an IDE), and subject-matter expertise within the GenAI field is strongly preferred.

    Key job responsibilities

As a UX Designer, you will own end-to-end design for features within the Bedrock Mantle console, from early research and concept exploration through detailed interaction design, prototyping, and production handoff. Your work will span model evaluation interfaces, prompt optimization tools, inference dashboards, and capacity management views. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to understand technical constraints, define requirements, and deliver designs that balance usability with the depth that technical customers expect.

You will conduct and synthesize user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform your design decisions and validate your solutions. You will present your work regularly in design critiques and stakeholder reviews, clearly articulating the rationale behind your choices and incorporating feedback to strengthen your designs.

You will contribute to shared design patterns and systems that scale across multiple AI services, collaborating with other designers on the team to maintain consistency and raise the quality bar. You will also be expected to adopt and experiment with emerging AI-assisted design tools, helping the team define new workflows and ways of working as the practice of design evolves.

    About the team

You will join a team of junior and senior designers who support each other through regular critiques, pairing sessions, and knowledge sharing. The broader service team is dynamic, fast-moving, and highly technical. They value designers who are engaged, not afraid to get into the weeds, and ready to be a true partner in designing the optimal customer journey.

We prototype early, test with real customers, iterate quickly, and hold ourselves to a high bar of craft and usability.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
