    Utility Worker – Facilities Services Support - (Rancho Bernardo)

     

    Opening: Starting Immediately

     

    Location: Northrop Grumman Campus - 16550 W Bernardo Dr, San Diego, CA 92127

     

    Employment type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

     

    Compensation: $19.25/hr + paid overtime (when OT is required)

    Schedule:

    • Monday - Thursday: 5:30 am to 3 pm.

    • Fridays: 5:30 am to 2 pm. Every other Friday is off.

    • Overtime needed on occasion.

     

    Looking for a reliable and experienced utility worker to provide on-site facilities support services. Services will include, but are not limited to, office moving, relocation services, excess property pickup, furniture installation, routine moving services activities, special event activities and set-up, special furniture repair, maintenance of furniture and building premises (pantires, breakrooms, locker rooms, fitness center, conference rooms, etc), and operating supplies/services, that are required for the safety of all employees and guests on campus.

     

    Job Duties include:

    • Moving/Relocating office furniture

    • Furniture Installation & Reconfigures: free-standing, panel-hung systems, and modular furniture disassembly, relocation, reassembly, and reconfigurations; the disassembly and reassembly of shelving, special items, and mobile or rolling file cabinet systems.

    • Routine Moving

    • Packing/Unpacking

    • Special event activities: Event activities include, but are not limited to, the internal delivery, setup, teardown, and pickup of tables and chairs for special events on site.

    • Furniture Repair Services: Minor furniture repair to items such as chair adjustment levers, keyboard tray adjustments, wood or surface touch-ups.

    • Miscellaneous Services: Hanging white boards, tack boards, pictures, signs, etc., inventorying facilities storage, light furniture cleaning after installation or repair, and other tasks as assigned by supervisor, etc.

     

    Job Requirements:

    • Experience in moving, warehousing, and commercial furniture installation is desired, but not required. Training will be provided.

    • Experience in driving a box truck (special license not required) preferred

    • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to perform work requests

    • Must have a valid driver's license (preferably CA)

    • Must be able to work in and maintain a clean working environment.

    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

    • Must be able to pass all security screening requirements

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.

    • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time

    • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.

    • Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, twist, reach, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, and balance.

    • Must be able to lift, carry, drag, or push, both alone and with help.
