Utility Maintenance Technician II

$30.41/hour; 40 hours/week

• Associates in Industrial Maintenance OR high school diploma or GED that is supplemented with advanced electromechanical training or four (4) years of experience in industrial maintenance
• Must possess or have the ability to pass Biological Wastewater Operator Certification Exam "D" within two (2) years of hire
• Valid South Carolina Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one is expected

The Utility Maintenance Technician II performs skilled work in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the City's wastewater treatment plants, water production plants, pump stations, lift stations, and all other City facilities such as athletic complexes, office spaces, and community centers. The technician would be required to perform technical work as required on electrical equipment, instrumentation, soft starts, variable frequency drives (VFD), programmable logic controllers (PLC), SCADA, pumps, motors, and other mechanical components. The Utility Maintenance Technician II works under the direction of the Utility Maintenance Manager but is expected to be capable of working independently to complete projects safely while following City procedures and guidelines.
