Utility/Laborer – Lab Location: Erie, PA, 16501 Shift: 1st shift Department: MRD Reports To: Lab Supervisor Job Type: Full-time Position Summary:We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to assist in our lab with manual tasks. This role involves physical work including surface preparation and sample handling and provides a pathway for growth into other lab positions. Primary Responsibilities:- Perform surface preparation (grinding) on steel samples
- Assist Lab Technicians with test preparation and general support
- Organize, clean, and maintain lab equipment and workspaces
- Handle and move materials as needed
- Moving materials with pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
- Follow safety and quality standards
- Support other areas of the lab as needed
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Prior experience in a lab or industrial environment is a plus
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed
