    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Come work with CMU Facilities as we maintain the day-to-day operations of our campus.

    Working on the Utility Crew involves moving furniture, event setup, trash and recycling, various trade’s work, operating specialized equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial booms, Window cleaning, snow shoveling, power washing, And many other tasks. 

    This job gives you a behind the scenes look into the daily operations of facilities at CMU and learn more about what keeps campus going. Every day is something new with this position, giving you many opportunities to learn and develop new skill sets. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Communicate effectively with staff, departments, and vendors.
    • Assist with loading and unloading truck and delivery of event resources.
    • Carry out day to day tasks efficiently and effectively 
    • Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklift (Training provided) 
    • Operate trades power tools (Drills, saws, sanders)
    • Safe operations of all CMU vehicles 
    • Trailer towing
    • Maintenance and upkeep of dumpsters on campus
    • Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and compliance regulations.
    • Support general maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors.

    Required:

    • Must be a currently enrolled student at Colorado Mesa University.
    • Must be dependable and able to work multiple days per week including over the summer.
    • Must have clear and valid driver’s license (MVR will be requested as terms of employment).
    • Ability to safely lift and move items (typically up to 10 -100 lbs.) 
    • Reliable time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

    I am looking for FALL 2026 student employees that can work Predominantly during the working week – Monday through Friday – Weekend shifts may be available throughout the year. 

    Our working days are:

    Monday through Friday:

    • 7am to 4pm (paid break from 9:30am to 10am and unpaid lunch from 12pm-1pm)

    Must have valid Driver's License at time of hire.  This is a requirement with no exceptions.
