Utility Analyst

Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | 8-5

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Union Township, Ohio that’s expanding its Shared Services team. 


The Utility Analyst is responsible for analyzing utility invoices, monitoring utility accounts,
identifying billing discrepancies, maintaining utility-related Excel spreadsheets, and providing
analytical support for clients and internal teams. This position requires strong Excel skills,
attention to detail, and the ability to interpret utility tariffs, supplier contracts, and billing data.

Key Responsibilities:
•Review and analyze electric, natural gas, water, sewer, telecommunications, ISP, fire and
alarm and elevator invoices for accuracy and cost savings opportunities.
•Audit utility bills to identify billing errors, overcharges, rate discrepancies, and savings
opportunities.
•Maintain utility account records, including account numbers, service locations, suppliers,
contract expiration dates, and billing contacts.
•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual utility reports for clients and management.
•Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets used for utility tracking and reporting.
•Analyze historical usage and cost trends to identify anomalies and cost-saving
opportunities.
•Support utility procurement activities by gathering account information and usage data.
•Assist with utility supplier contract administration and renewal tracking.
•Coordinate with utility companies, suppliers, and clients to resolve billing and account
issues.
•Verify implementation of utility rate changes, supplier enrollments, and contract terms.
•Prepare ad hoc reports and perform special projects as assigned.
•Implement client approved recommendations, working with vendors and clients through
email and telephone conversations.

Required Qualifications:
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
o Maintaining Pivot Tables
o Maintaining VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
o Data validation
o Conditional formatting
o Charting and reporting
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•IT skills relating to networks, telecommunications
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Comfortable working with large Excel datasets and performing account audits.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with CRM systems (specifically ACT!)
•Experience creating automated reports.
•Experience with Excel Power Query
