Bring data to life and help shape the infrastructure of our community! This role performs professional, technical, and analytical work creating, maintaining, and editing maps and geospatial data for a wide range of engineering projects. You'll work with GIS, AutoCAD, and related software to manage geodatabases, prepare detailed maps, drainage designs, legal descriptions, and presentation exhibits, while ensuring accuracy and consistency with established standards. The position also supports project planning, supervises field data collection, and provides exceptional customer service by assisting the public and other departments with archival drawings, plans, and technical information.

Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey
In this role, you can expect to apply a strong blend of technical expertise and analytical thinking while working closely with engineering, GIS, and database systems. You'll use industry-standard software and tools to develop and analyze spatial data, interpret civil engineering plans and hydrologic information, and support public works and utilities projects from planning through implementation. The position calls for organized, detail-oriented work, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines while maintaining accurate records. You'll collaborate with internal teams, assist external customers, and use sound judgment, resourcefulness, and professionalism to solve complex problems and support informed decision-making across the department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Walking, sitting, hearing, seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions. Dependent upon position assignment, may frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment and is nearly absent from disagreeable elements (e.g., irate customers, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights and/or dust).
