Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Utilities Project Manager II with our large power and utilities client in Lake Mary, FL. This is a 15-month contract with a potential for extension.


Pay:$68.00 - $78.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description:
  • Key responsibilities include leading the project team, offering oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination with both internal and external organizations (such as Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Operations, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Security, Fuels, Transmission, etc.).
  • PM-II's are expected to guide matrixed team members daily and work with functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Communication is a core part of the role—establishing and maintaining open channels among project stakeholders, structuring and leading meetings, and preparing monthly project status reports and other required communications.
  • Project plans and reporting are to be developed in line with PMCoE Standards and Business Unit procedures, and management/governance teams kept informed as needed.
  • The planning process covers scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • 5+ years of proven experience managing capital infrastructure or construction projects, preferably in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, transmission, or large-scale industrial environments, including oversight of scope, schedule, cost, and commissioning activities.
  • PMP certification

  • PPE required for site visits: Hard hat, safety glasses, boots, FR shirt and pants
  • Work environment: 90% office, 10% site visits
  • Hazardous conditions: Travel to active substations and electrical lines
  • Driving for site visits: Yes, including travel as far north as the panhandle
