Are you ready to turn data into smarter infrastructure decisions? In this role, you'll support the County's Asset Management Program by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining critical data that guides how public infrastructure is managed and improved. From field inspections to GIS analysis, your work will help ensure accurate, reliable information drives planning and operations.
You'll maintain asset data within GIS and Cityworks systems, supporting everything from inventory and condition assessments to performance tracking and reporting. Working closely with the Department Asset Manager, you'll help coordinate inspections, analyze trends, and develop tools that improve asset utilization and reduce costs.
This position blends fieldwork and technology. You'll collect data using survey-grade GPS equipment, perform GIS mapping and analysis, and verify asset information across systems. You'll also assist with process improvements, asset planning, developing and maintaining SOPs and workflows, and emergency operations activities.

Education and Experience:
An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:
Associate's Degree preferred in:
Geographic Information Systems
Computer / Information Science
Engineering
Information Technology
Public/Business Administration
And:
Three (3) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), public/business administration, asset management, utility operations, infrastructure maintenance, or a related field
Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience.
Preferred: GIS
Licenses and/or Certificates:
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Within six (6) months of position assignment, obtain the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Asset Management Certificate.
Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures.
Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures.
Knowledge of productivity and graphical applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related computer programs and software applications.
Skilled in ESRI ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and related tools.
Understanding of methods for collecting and integrating spatial data, including GPS, remote sensing and GIS.
Ability to learn and perform GPS field data collection using Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware and software.
Knowledge of engineering and surveying computations and terminology.
Knowledge of construction materials.
Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications.
Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
Proficient in prioritizing and organizing tasks with basic project management skills to effectively meet deadlines.
Ability to understand directions and proceed with a minimum of supervision.
Ability to read and interpret a variety of construction specifications, diagrams, plans, and blueprints
Ability to safely maintain and operate motorized equipment used in the area(s) of assignment.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and enforcing department codes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ability to provide internal and external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication.
Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, other employees, and the general public.
