Description
Position Purpose
Runs the systems the process cannot live without, including steam, cooling, compressed air, process water and effluent treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, nitrogen supply and process water treatment.
Operate the wastewater treatment system and maintain discharge within permit limits.
Perform utility water chemistry testing and chemical dosing for boiler and cooling systems.
Maintain compliance records required by environmental permits and coordinate with the Environmental Compliance Specialist.
Monitor utility consumption and support energy efficiency efforts.
Perform first line maintenance on utility equipment and support planned outages.
Respond to utility upsets that threaten process stability.
Required Qualifications
Three or more years operating industrial utilities or wastewater systems.
Texas boiler operator or wastewater operator license, or willingness to obtain within twelve months.
Working knowledge of water chemistry and chemical handling.
Willingness to work a twelve hour rotating shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Both boiler and wastewater licensing.
Industrial pretreatment and biological treatment experience.
