#CA-PS
Under general supervision of the Risk and Safety Solutions (RSS) Director of Product, the User Experience Designer shapes how researchers, safety staff, and administrators across UC campuses and medical centers interact with RSS applications every day. The User Experience Designer provides UX and UI design for web application development teams whose applications are deployed across UC campuses and medical centers. Working in an agile environment alongside other UX/UI designers, Product Managers, UX Research, and engineers, this role owns the design of assigned product areas, driving a unified user experience across RSS applications, and designs intuitive workflows through complex product surfaces. The incumbent delivers wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed, developer-ready design specifications; contributes to the shared design system; and ensures web applications meet campus and University-wide accessibility, design, and branding standards. Independently plans and conducts usability evaluations and user research activities for assigned products. Partners with the UX Researcher and broader UX team to translate research insights into design decisions and validate design work with end users.
Risk and Safety Solutions was founded to support the University of California, one of the world's leading research institutions. Meeting the challenges presented by the institution's vast breadth of EH&S and Risk Management activities required a creative spirit and new ways of thinking. Today that spirit continues as we expand our expertise to new activities and a wider range of business needs in the public and private sector.
To be considered for this position, candidates must already have authorization to work in the United States.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
