Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership policies and manufacturer standards.
- Service and repair a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Test drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to identify mechanical concerns.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and HVAC systems.
- Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly with the Service Advisor to ensure customers are informed of additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Accurately estimate the time and labor required for additional repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Automotive Technician.
- Virginia State Inspector License preferred (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic procedures.
- Experience working on multiple vehicle makes and models preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies, repair procedures, and manufacturer updates.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Computer literate with experience using dealership management and diagnostic software.
- Proficient in operating electronic diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
