Role Overview
The SaaS Sales Director will lead the commercialization and revenue growth of the company's AI-driven laboratory solutions across the United States. This role is highly entrepreneurial, requiring a hands-on builder who can develop market strategy, establish customer relationships, and scale sales infrastructure from early-stage market entry through rapid growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong SaaS enterprise sales expertise with deep familiarity in life sciences, laboratory technologies, or research-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute the US commercial strategy for AI-based laboratory SaaS solutions.
Identify and penetrate key market segments including pharma, biotech, CROs, academic research institutions, and diagnostic laboratories.
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve aggressive revenue targets.
Establish strategic partnerships and channel relationships to accelerate market entry.
Enterprise Sales Leadership
Lead complex, consultative SaaS sales cycles with enterprise customers.
Engage senior stakeholders including scientific leadership, IT, digital transformation teams, and procurement.
Drive solution positioning that demonstrates measurable ROI, workflow optimization, and scientific productivity gains.
Negotiate commercial agreements and close high-value contracts.
Go-To-Market Development
Localize global product positioning and messaging for the US life sciences ecosystem.
Provide market intelligence and customer insights to product and R&D teams.
Collaborate with marketing to develop demand generation strategies, industry engagement, and brand visibility.
Team Building & Sales Infrastructure
Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing US sales team over time.
Implement CRM discipline, sales processes, and performance metrics.
Work cross-functionally with application scientists, technical support, and customer success teams to ensure successful deployment and retention.
Cross-Border Collaboration
Serve as a key bridge between US customers and China-based product and leadership teams.
Support global alignment on commercial strategy, product roadmap, and customer requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of enterprise sales experience in SaaS, laboratory technologies, or scientific software solutions.
Demonstrated success selling into pharma, biotech, CRO, or academic research markets.
Proven track record of building new markets or scaling early-stage commercial operations.
Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, data management systems, or digital lab transformation.
Experience managing long and complex enterprise sales cycles.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred
Experience working with AI, machine learning, or automation platforms in life sciences.
Prior experience working with global or cross-border technology organizations.
Existing industry network across US life sciences ecosystem.
