    Description

    Role Name: Linux Systems Administrator
    Work Location: Austin, TX – Onsite



    Work Arrangement:
    The candidate must work onsite from the customer’s Austin, TX office starting on Day 1.
    Primary Responsibilities
    • Manage and administer Linux (RHEL/Rocky Linux) virtual machines across multi-site data center environments.
    • Operate and maintain the OpenShift container platform, including user management, workload troubleshooting, and cluster health monitoring.
    • Support AVI Vantage load balancer operations, including virtual service configuration, pool management, SSL binding, and health monitors.
    • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation, including user management, security agent deployment, OS patching, and SSH hardening.
    • Fulfill daily infrastructure requests, including VM provisioning, resource augmentation, access provisioning, and troubleshooting.
    • Manage hardware lifecycle activities, including Dell iDRAC management, decommission coordination, and EOSL tracking.
    • Deploy and maintain security agents across all hosts.
    • Manage the SSL certificate lifecycle, including renewals, installation, and expiration tracking.
    • Support FreeIPA and Keycloak identity services, including user provisioning, group management, and authentication troubleshooting.
    • Coordinate with vulnerability management teams to patch or mitigate findings on data center hosts.
    • Participate in the on-call rotation for production infrastructure incidents.
    Required Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience in enterprise Linux systems administration, including RHEL 7/8/9 and Rocky Linux.
    • Strong working knowledge of Ansible for infrastructure automation, including playbook development, roles, inventories, and Ansible Vault.
    • Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes, including cluster operations, user management, and pod troubleshooting.
    • Experience with application delivery controllers/load balancers; AVI Vantage is preferred, while F5 BIG-IP is acceptable.
    • Hands-on experience managing Dell PowerEdge server hardware using iDRAC, OpenManage, and BIOS/firmware updates.
    • Familiarity with virtualization platforms and VM lifecycle management tools such as ManageIQ, VMware, or similar technologies.
    • Experience with identity management systems such as FreeIPA, LDAP, Keycloak, or Active Directory.
    • Understanding of SSL/TLS certificate management and PKI concepts.
    • Proficiency with Git for version control, including branching, merge requests, and collaborative workflows; GitLab experience is preferred.
    • Experience working in multi-site data center environments.
    • Foundational knowledge of AWS or GCP, including core services such as compute, networking, storage, and IAM, as well as an understanding of how on-premises infrastructure maps to cloud equivalents.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across network, operating system, and application layers.
    • Ability to work independently, manage a queue of requests, and prioritize tasks effectively.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Hands-on experience with AVI Vantage, including virtual services, pools, and health monitors.
    • Experience with Splunk Forwarder deployment and log pipeline configuration.
    • Exposure to vulnerability management workflows.
    • Experience with Jira for work tracking and request management.
    • Familiarity with hardware lifecycle planning, including EOSL tracking, refresh coordination, and capacity planning.
    • Python scripting experience for operational automation and reporting.
    • Understanding of network fundamentals, including VLANs, routing, firewall rules, and DNS.
    • Experience supporting Cisco UCS or Dell EMC Unity storage platforms.
    • Hands-on experience migrating workloads from on-premises environments to AWS or GCP using lift-and-shift or re-platforming approaches.
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools for cloud environments, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager.
    • Experience with cloud-native container orchestration platforms such as Amazon EKS or Google GKE, in addition to on-premises OpenShift.
    • Relevant certifications at the Associate level or higher.
