    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Our Neuromodulation business is an area of expertise for Abbott. This business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. Our Solutions include Proclaim (TM) XR SCS System, the #1 Spinal cord stimulator on the market, Proclaim (TM) DRG Neurostimulator, the only FDA approved DRG therapy and a market leader in radiofrequency ablation therapy, Abbott RFA.  These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. Our deep brain stimulation technology for progressive diseases help people manage their Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor symptoms, steering away from side effects.

    Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a US DBS Commercial Controller. The primary function of this position is to execute a wide range of financial planning and decision support responsibilities for Abbott Neuromodulation Deep Brain Stimulation and participate in short and long-range planning and execution of strategic initiatives. Executes the full range of responsibilities to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial related information.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Ensure financial statements are accurately stated and are in compliance with GAAP as well as applicable Abbott policies and procedures
    • Facilitate financial reporting requirements for actuals, forecast (LBE) and ad hoc reporting
    • Coordinate and consolidate cross-functional forecast deliverables and timelines
    • Create executive presentations for business reviews
    • Oversee the maintenance of accounts and records by managing the close process each month
    • Assist and support in the assessment of impact of business change initiatives
    • Collect and review data requested by auditors (internal and external)
    • Identify, develop and implement processes to improve department performance
    • Participate in process reviews as a part of continuous improvement activities
    • Ensure cross-functional collaboration across process owners to implement standard, efficient processes
    • Establish and communicate accounting policies to staff by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as appropriate
    • Monitor daily work operations and provide direction and guidance to staff
    • Develop, lead, train and manage direct and functional personnel. Promote and foster a team environment across the Division finance function focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience
    • 1+ years as a team lead
    • Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint skills and previous experience with HFM/SAP a plus
    • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as this role interact with domestic and international colleagues, all Finance towers (including FP&A, Shared Services, CFS), and Divisional Sr. Management
    • Apply professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems and exercise independent decision making

    Preferred

    • CPA or MBA preferred
    • Audit experience preferred
    • Ability to be highly motivated and work independently
    • Able to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines and direct activities on several projects at one time

    The base pay for this position is

    $113,300.00 – $226,700.00

    In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
