    Job Title: Stainless Steel Operations Technician

    Location: Carlsbad CA USA CA-92011 (100% On-site)

    Pay Rate: $28.00 /hour on W2 without benefits

    Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (Opportunity for Permanent Conversion)

    Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week (Typical hours: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM; flexible start between 7:00 AM 9:00 AM following an initial 2-week training period)

    Position Summary

    The primary responsibility of the Stainless Steel Operations Technician is to build, test, and document the manufacturing of various sizes of containers for the delivery of ultra-pure materials used in semiconductor manufacturing processes, primarily supporting the M Forward program. Most tasks are performed in a cleanroom environment, necessitating strict adherence to protocol to maintain cleanliness.

    The technician will operate specialized equipment to perform quality, leak, particle, and moisture checks on containers. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong mechanical aptitude, investigative characteristics, clear communication skills, and a growth mindset.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assembly & Processing: Perform container builds, disassembly, and assembly using hand and electronic tools; process stainless steel containers in accordance with established work instructions.

    • Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform leak checks, particle checks, moisture checks, and tests on container hardware and electrical components using specialized and semi-automated washing/drying equipment.

    • Technical Documentation: Interpret various gauges, measurement devices, technical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

    • Record Keeping: Maintain clear and concise documentation of daily activities, test results, and manufacturing processes.

    • Troubleshooting & Input: Troubleshoot electromechanical issues, understand fluid flow through systems during valve operations, and provide input on prototype container builds when needed.

    • Safety & Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, identify job-related safety hazards, and communicate concerns directly to management.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    • 2+ years of relevant experience in electromechanical assembly.

    • 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical processes.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with SAP software.

    • Knowledge of helium leak detection methods.

    • Background in the chemical manufacturing industry.

    • Familiarity with the use and understanding of torque wrenches.

    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.

    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
