Position Overview
The client is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support semiconductor manufacturing operations in Fremont, CA. The role involves maintaining chemical, gas, and slurry distribution systems and ensuring the reliable and safe operation of equipment supporting semiconductor production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance on chemical, gas, and slurry distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including chemical and gas delivery systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on distribution system equipment and chemical systems.
- Respond to equipment issues and chemical system leaks.
- Read, interpret, and create Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Prepare technical documentation and accurately document all maintenance activities.
- Support troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and technical repair activities.
- Follow safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance or skilled trades experience, such as plumbing, welding, oil field work, or similar.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read gauges, understand units of measurement, and use precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial/semiconductor environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade/vocational school training or Associate Degree in a technical discipline.
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with equipment startup and commissioning.
- Experience installing and maintaining plumbing systems.
- Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs.
- Experience with gas and chemical delivery systems, preferably in ultra-high-purity environments.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience.
- Continuous improvement experience.
- Knowledge of materials of construction and chemical compatibility.
- Ability to identify parts required for equipment repairs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Walk approximately 3 6 miles per day throughout the facility.
- Climb ladders up to 12 feet using fall protection.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and overhead reaching.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of industrial maintenance or skilled-trades experience with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Experience with plumbing, PLCs, P&IDs, gas/chemical systems, equipment repair, or semiconductor facilities is highly desirable. Candidates must be comfortable working rotating 10-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
