Physician - Urgent Care Martinez, CA

This role is ideally suited for physicians trained in Emergency Medicine, or those with backgrounds in Family Practice or Internal Medicine who possess significant Emergency Medicine experience.

Location: Martinez VA Medical Center, 150 Muir Rd, Martinez, CA 94553 (Community-Based Outpatient Clinic)

? Position Highlights

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday; Clinical hours approximate ~36 hours/week, flexible within urgent care framework
• Setting: On-site urgent care at Martinez VA CBOCacute, non-life-threatening conditions only (after-hours emergencies are referred to 911)

? Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat Veterans presenting with minor injuries, acute illnesses, and non-critical conditions
• Order diagnostic tests (labs, imaging), perform point-of-care procedures, manage medications, and initiate referrals
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary VA teams to ensure continuity of care and follow-up
• Adhere to VA clinical protocols, documentation standards, and veteran-centered care guidelines

? Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree: MD or DO from accredited institution
• Licensure: Full, unrestricted U.S. medical license
• Training: Residency in Emergency, Family, or Internal Medicine with significant urgent care/emergency experience preferred
• Board Status: Board-certified or board-eligible
• Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required (exceptions when qualified citizens unavailable)

? Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $260,000 - $325,000 annually
• Leave: 50-55 days/year (26 annual + 13 sick + 11 federal holidays + CME days)
• Retirement: Federal pension (vests in 5 years) + Thrift Savings Plan with matching
• Insurance: Federal health, dental, vision, term life, long-term care
• CME Stipend: $1,000/year for full-time, board-certified providers
• Malpractice Protection: VA covers liability and tail coverage
• EDRP: Up to $200,000 in educational debt repayment over 1-5 years (eligibility required within 4 months of hire)
